Privacy Policy

This privacy policy explains what information the DFM2HTML website and desktop software collect, how that information is used, and what choices you have. DFM2HTML is a Windows desktop application and this is its documentation and download site. The data footprint is intentionally minimal because a desktop HTML editor does not need to know much about you to do its job. This page covers website analytics, search functionality, cookie behavior, third party services, data retention, and how to contact us about privacy questions.

What the Website Collects

The DFM2HTML website is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you visit, standard web server logs may record your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the pages you request. These logs are maintained by the hosting infrastructure and are used only for security monitoring, abuse prevention, and aggregate traffic analysis. We do not operate a user account system on this site and we do not require registration to browse documentation, tutorials, or download pages.

The on-site search feature runs entirely in your browser using a static search index. Search queries are not transmitted to any external service. The search index is downloaded to your device when you use the search function, and all matching happens locally.

What the Desktop Software Collects

DFM2HTML is a desktop application that runs locally on your Windows computer. The editor does not phone home, does not require an internet connection to operate, and does not transmit your project files, usage patterns, or system information to any remote server. The HTML files you create are stored on your local file system and are not uploaded anywhere unless you choose to do so yourself.

The software does not include telemetry, crash reporting services, or analytics SDKs. What you build stays on your machine.

Cookies

The DFM2HTML website uses only the cookies that Cloudflare may set as part of its standard security and performance services. These are functional cookies related to bot detection and traffic management. We do not set advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or social media cookies. We do not use cookie consent banners because the cookies in use are strictly necessary for site delivery and security.

Third Party Services

The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes requests to deliver pages and may collect standard access log data as described in their own privacy policy. We use Google Fonts for typeface delivery, which means your browser makes requests to Google servers to load font files. No other third party services are embedded in the site at launch. There are no social media widgets, advertising networks, embedded videos, or third party analytics platforms.

Data Retention

Server logs maintained by Cloudflare are retained according to Cloudflare's data retention policies. We do not maintain separate databases of visitor information. If you submit a message through the contact form, the contents of that message are retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry. We do not add contact form submissions to marketing lists or share them with third parties.

Your Rights

If you are located in a jurisdiction that provides data protection rights, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Given the minimal data collection described above, there is very little personal data involved. If you have questions about what data may exist, contact us and we will respond as promptly as we can.

Children

The DFM2HTML website and software are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the contact form, please reach out so we can address it.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be posted on this page. We will not reduce your rights under this policy without clear notice. For material changes, we will update the effective date noted below.
